David Guetta

9:30PM - 11:00PM

With 2009’s multi-platinum One Love, two-time-Grammy-winning artist/producer/DJ David Guetta cemented his status as a genre-busting hitmaker whose in-your-face fusion of electro and hip-hop beautifully warps the pop landscape. Now, with his fifth studio album Nothing But The Beat, Guetta builds on that breakthrough momentum and takes his decades-spanning career to a frenetic new level marked by bigger hooks and more brain-bending beats. A star-packed powerhouse showcasing today’s hottest hip-hop and R&B artists,Nothing But The Beat backs up its high-gloss pop with ingenious electronic stylings that deftly flaunt Guetta’s DJ pedigree. In a nod to the driving force behind Guetta’s crossover success, the double album (due out August 29) also offers an all-instrumental disc designed to turn new listeners on to the hypnotic sound of house music.

One of the most wildly anticipated albums of the year, Nothing But The Beat comes hot on the heels of the rush release of its first smash single, “Where Them Girls At” (featuring Flo Rida & Nicki Minaj). Already his fasting selling single to reach gold status in the USA, the dizzying and deadly catchy “Where Them Girls At” marks a one-time return to the straight-up club-anthem sensibility of Guetta’s “Sexy Bitch” (the 2009 monster hit that moved 5 million units worldwide). “When I listen to the radio in the U.S., every song sounds like ‘Sexy Bitch,’” says Guetta. “The urban dance thing has become huge. Now I have to push it because my sound has become so popular. It’s a challenge, but I like that.”

For help in blowing up those musical boundaries, Guetta assembled an A-team of collaborators sure to thrill enthusiasts from all ends of the pop spectrum. Nothing But The Beat features no fewer than 17 guest artists, from hip-hop royalty (Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, Timbaland) and game-changing rappers (Minaj, Lil Wayne) to R&B superstars (Usher, Chris Brown, Akon) and breakout pop acts (Dev, Jessie J). Rounded out by Jennifer Hudson, Flo Rida, Taio Cruz, Sia, and Guetta’s “fellow mad scientist” Will.I.Am., that roster was carefully culled to guarantee a filler-free album destined to deliver hit after hit. “I produced about 40 songs to get these 13 records together,” Guetta explains. “I wanted every song to be huge, phenomenal.”

Not only boasting massive pop appeal, Nothing But The Beat bears a broad, adventurous scope of sound that reaffirms Guetta’s role as a pioneer of the electronica/urban music hybrid. To start, the album blasts off with the dancefloor-ruling trinity of “Where Them Girls At,” “Little Bad Girl,” and “Turn Me On,” a triple threat that quickly proves Nothing But The Beat to be a high-energy hit machine. Riding off the feel-good frenzy of “Where Them Girls At,” “Little Bad Girl” pairs Ludacris’s masterfully bombastic flow with the smooth, sexed-up vocals of singer/rapper Taio Cruz—all while repurposing classic house-music elements (lush synth loops, crisp beats) into a radio-ready knockout. On the glorious and gut-punching “Turn Me On,” meanwhile, Guetta grants Nicki Minaj her stunning debut as a full-fledged songbird. “Everyone knows she’s the best female rapper right now,” says Guetta. “I wanted to take her somewhere she’s never been.” The track brilliantly contrasts Minaj’s trademark madcap rapping with disarmingly tender vocal work, complementing her persona-switching performance with a slick barrage of erratic beats and spaced-out effects.

Ever experimental, Guetta transports his collaborators to previously unexplored sonic spaces all throughout Nothing But The Beat. On “Sweat,” for instance, Guetta remixes one of his most prized DJ records as a stark, synth-heavy electro-hop track that spotlights Snoop Dogg’s strikingly sleek vocals. Elsewhere on the album, guest artists match Guetta’s ingenuity with their own brand of beamed-in-from-another-dimension whimsy and weirdness. Just as “I Can Only Imagine” alternates shimmering, buoyant beats with wildly skidding synth, the track continually trades off Chris Brown’s warm melodies with the lyrical mischief-making of Lil Wayne (whom Guetta dubs “a big genius”). And on “I Just Wanna F,” Timbaland and Dev play a deliciously dirty version of the alphabet game while Guetta lays down a densely textured groove that makes this futuristic fever dream one of the album’s most irresistible moments.

At the heart of Nothing But The Beat is a selection of soul-stirring songs that reveal the spirit behind Guetta’s gorgeously crafted beats. With all the passion and power of an old-school dance anthem, “Night Of Your Life” shows off Jennifer Hudson’s heavenly voice and remarkable range. On the slow-building “Without You,” Usher opens with achingly vulnerable vocals that soon swell into a soaring, sweeping performance ultimately backed by delicate piano work. “It’s possibly the biggest track on the album,” says Guetta of “Without You.” “It’s a monster—so big, so emotional.” In a one-two punch, Guetta follows “Without You” with the equally wistful opening moments of “Nothing Really Matters”—then turns it all around and elevates the Will.I.Am-led track into an escapist party jam. “I love playing with both worlds,” says Guetta, noting the bold disparity between the “crazy electro-beat and the super-sophisticated string arrangement” on “Nothing Really Matters.” To close out Nothing But The Beat, Guetta taps into the otherworldly vocal prowess of Australian indie-pop star Sia. Ethereal yet anthemic, “Titanium” enchants the listener with trance-inducing beats and a lyrical intensity unrivaled on the pop scene today.

Switching gears for the 10-track accompanying disc, Guetta reconnects with his electro roots and primary fan base. “I didn’t want people who’ve been following me for years to feel left out,” says Guetta. “I feel like if I lose my original fans, it’s over. Without those people that inspire me, I’m just another pop producer.” From tripped-out techno to drum-driven dubstep experiments to raw and riotous dirty house, the instrumental element ofNothing But The Beat illuminates Guetta’s virtuosity as a DJ—an art he continues to hone and expand even as he racks up chart-topping records. That evidence of Guetta’s remaining firmly rooted in club culture will no doubt satisfy longtime electronica devotees, while at the same time ushering a whole new audience into the dance-music underground. “Because I’m a DJ first, I wanted to use my success to introduce newer fans to what my culture is about and where my inspiration comes from,” Guetta notes.

That sizable success isn’t nearly limited to Guetta’s work as a recording artist and DJ. In addition to selling more than 5 million albums worldwide since his 2001 debut, Guetta acted as producer on the Black Eyed Peas’ “I Gotta Feeling” (the highest-selling digital release in music history). Along with his two Grammys (one for his remix of Madonna’s “Revolver” in 2011, the other for his remix of One Love’s “When Love Takes Over), Guetta took home the Best DJ, Best Producer, and Best-Selling French Artist prizes at the 2010 World Music Awards. And having kicked off his DJ career as a teenager in his native France, Guetta also partners with his wife Cathy on promoting duties for the legendary F*** Me I’m Famous dance parties (held in locations like Ibiza, Miami, New York, and Las Vegas since 1995). “It doesn’t matter if I make a beat that’s going to be a song on the radio, or if I make a record that’s meant to please DJs,” Guetta says of continuing to bridge the gap between electronic and pop on Nothing But The Beat. “I always just think of making people dance—that’s my first priority.”

What Avicii and his manager Ash Pournouri have managed in a few years is astonishing. Beginning his career at 18, the self-taught, fresh-faced Swede that is Avicii has had greater success at 22 than most could ever hope for in a lifetime. With chart-toppers as Seek Bromance, My Feelings For You, Fade into Darkness, Silhouettes and LE7ELS, Avicii has since 2008 risen from bedroom music-maker to international superstar. He has headlined Ultra Music Festival with Madonna, completed a $1 million charity tour, done an exclusive collaboration with Ralph Lauren: Denim & Supply and embarked one of the biggest EDM arena tour to date already in 2012, and Avicii now stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the most in-demand and elite artists on the planet.

From the beginning, Avicii has sculpted fresh, innovative electronic music. Not getting caught up in the particularities of sub-genres and trends, he continues to deliver track after track of original and blissful music. Already In April 2008, Avicii won Pete Tong’s fiercely competitive ‘Fast Trax’, and his first notable hit Manman was signed to Pete’s label, ‘Bedroom Bedlam’ – a big achievement for a teenager. Since then, the chart toppers have kept coming.

2012 has seen the Swede skyrocket. Kicking the year off with their unique ‘House for Hunger’ tour, Avicii and Ash personally donate a staggering $1million to the organization ‘Feeding America’, by doing a not-for-profit 27 stops tour in the U.S.

Next to follow was the worldwide release of his next single Silhouettes, the announcement of his forthcoming collaboration with fashion guru Ralph Lauren and a headline performance with pop goddess Madonna on Miami’s Ultra Music Festival. Masterminded by Ash and after almost a year in the making, Avicii unleashed a 35-foot flying head with full LED mapping on the Coachella crowd. Since then it’s been transported across North America on one of the biggest arena tours ever undertaken by an electronic artist – Avicii’s LE7ELS Arena Tour.

Arty

6:30PM - 8:00PM

On July 4th, 2011, Arty released his massive, big-room house anthem "Around the World" on Anjunabeats following unprecedented support across the board from Axwell, Chuckie, Hardwell, Tiesto, Robbie Rivera, Armin Van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Gareth Emery and an extended list of the biggest names in electronic music of the moment on the biggest events of the year such as the Swedish House Mafia's performance on the main stage of the record-breaking Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas in June 2011. Artem Stolyarov has himself already been around the world and back having played events across the globe from the most prestigious clubs to some of the biggest festivals including Global Gathering, Gatecrasher and ASOT 500 in Den Bosch.

In autumn 2010 Arty made his debut in the DJ Mag Top 100 poll as #78 in the world while being listed by many peers in the same centurion as the breakthrough artist of the year, which was subsequently followed by nomination for Best Breakthrough DJ at the 2011 IDMA awards. As Arty said in an interview in summer 2010, "I think that your goals must be difficult to achieve; reaching such goals is the most exciting thing that encourages me to develop as an artist", and with so much achieved so far in his fledgling career with over 30 releases on labels from Armada to Black Hole, topping Beatport charts and being supported on countless radio shows by other top artists this hard-working attitude indicates only more to come.

In 2011 alone some of his productions such as the collaboration "Rebound" with Mat Zo have been among the most played tracks around and to add to his already-impressive remixology resumé he has been handpicked for duties on some high-profile release packages to be announced soon. Confirmed for Audiotistic Festival in LA and Electric Zoo Festival in New York as debuts in each city, the 21-year old Russian native continues relentlessly moving forward setting the bar for what constitutes a rookie year in every possible area of his career.

Morgan Page

5:00PM - 6:30PM

Morgan Page has certainly come a long way from his native Vermont. Leading up to his third full-length album, In The Air, Page has enjoyed many “firsts.” A little more than a month since its release, In The Air surpassed year-to-date sales of his two previous releases - 2008’s Elevate and 2010’s Believe – hosting Page’s first #1 hit on Billboard’s Hot Dance Airplay Chart and his first gold single.

Page began crafting this collection in early 2010. In between stints on the road, Page assembled an all-star cast of guests to appear on these original tracks. That cast includes Tegan And Sara on "Body Work" and "Video," Jonathan Mendelsohn and Andy Caldwell on "Where Did You Go?" Greg Laswell on "Addicted", and a powerhouse combination of BT, Sultan, and Ned Shepard and Angela McCluskey (Télépopmusik) on the record's first single "In the Air." The lead track rises from an elegantly enticing electro haze into an infectious hook, moving from progressive house into propulsive pop.

While on tour in Montreal, Page visited Sultan, and Ned Shepard in the studio. They played him music that was the basis for "In the Air," and he instantly knew McCluskey would be the perfect vocal fit. Volleying from BT's kettledrum into gorgeous synth swells, the song is as expansive as it is enthralling. Page called McCluskey down to his own studio, and she took an equally unique approach to penning the lyrics.

"She sat on my deck clipping out magazine headlines and they became her initial concept for lyrics," reveals Page. "Each verse builds towards a similar theme, and it tells a story. The song is about capturing the excitement of being in the moment."

The mega-collaboration resulted in a #1 hit on Billboard’s Hot Dance Airplay chart that sat on the chart for 25 weeks. Despite a long history of Top 10 successes -- "Longest Road," "Call My Name,” “Fight For You” and “Strange Condition” – “In The Air” is Page’s first #1 single.  When asked by Billboard Magazine about his career achievement, Page humbly answers, “it just got an immediate genuine response from people that blew me away.”

"Body Work" marks the first time that Page has collaborated with Tegan And Sara for a new, original tune. He's remixed numerous cuts for the indie stalwarts, but they actually teamed up from scratch this time around. The results are nothing short of entrancing.

Page goes on, "Tegan And Sara tapped into this '80s-inspired feel and went with it. They come from a different mindset, and they wrote these lyrics that people will immediately come back to. Pretty much all of the songs on the record are different mutations of a love song, and they put their own spin on that."

“Body Work,” entered the Top 20 at Canadian Pop Radio and remained on the chart for ten consecutive weeks, earning both Page and Tegan And Sara their first gold single.  At iTunes, “Body Work” spent five week in the top 10 “Dance Songs,” while the accompanying video was added into rotation at MTV, MuchMore, Musiqueplus and MuchMusic, and consequently, featured as the “Recommended Video Of The Week.”
There's a story behind every song. Richard Walters actually contacted Page unsolicited for his collaborations, while the album's cover of The Police classic, "S.O.S. (Message in a Bottle)" sees the DJ flexing his own vocal muscles on a vibrant interpretation.

With the help of electro impresario Andy Caldwell and vocal sensation Jonathan Mendelsohn, "Where Did You Go?" segues from seductive synths into another massive dance floor-made refrain, while album closer "Addicted" sees Page pushing boundaries again by incorporating the soulful stylings of vocalist, Greg Laswell.

Page remains a powerful presence in the electronic music scene. He made a name for himself with 2005's collection of bootleg remixes, Cease And Desist. Getting the blogosphere chattering, he began carving out a niche. In 2008, he dropped his formal debut Elevate, which spawned one of his biggest hits to date "The Longest Road" featuring songstress, Lissie. The Deadmau5 remix of the track was nominated for a Grammy (Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical) in 2009. His sophomore effort, 2010's Believe, saw him continue to garner even more critical and fan acclaim.

The accolades didn't stop there though. In 2011 his remix of Nadia Ali's "Fantasy" received a Grammy nomination for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical. In the meantime, he also received four International Dance Music Award nominations, including 2012’s “Best American DJ (North America)” alongside Skrillex, Deadmau5 and Kaskade.

While touring and dropping records, Page managed to produce close to 300 remixes for everyone from Madonna and Katy Perry to La Roux and Florence + the Machine. Most recently, he's remixed legends Daft Punk ["Solar Sailor"] and Underworld ["Diamond Jigsaw"].  His other recent remix collaborations include work with Adam K and Bass Kleph.

About his remix style, Page explains, "You want to take the mix to a different level; you don't want to simply imitate the original. Daft Punk and Underworld were big influences. They got me into music in the first place so that was such an amazing opportunity."

The new album sees Page evolving into an inspirational powerhouse in his own right. He builds his own space in the middle of the pop and electro worlds sonically. He affirms, "This record exists between the club and pop worlds with a little bit of indie thrown in there as well. I wanted to try some new flavors and attitudes, while keeping my sound intact. At the end of the day, it's really about the song. I want to make sure these songs stick in your head. While I was working on the album, I had the chance to road-test a lot of this material, and it was effective for the dance floor."

Page has ignited crowds around the world and at crucial festivals such as Coachella Arts And Valley Music Festival (90,000-capacity), Electric Daisy Carnival (142,000-capacity), Spring Awakening Festival (61,000-capacity), Electric Zoo (25,000-capacity) and more.

It's not only his first appearance at many of the festivals, but it's also the year that Wynn Las Vegas signed him for a prestigious yearlong residency alongside other artists like Tiësto, Deadmau5, Afrojack and Steve Aoki.

"Touring really changes your sound," he adds. "The more you play live, the more you see what's working globally in different venues. You sculpt your sound around how the crowd is reacting. At the same time, the live show is definitely evolving too.  There will be a lot more audience interaction and production value on the upcoming tour... It's important that people have a good time and come back for more."

With In The Air, the Los Angeles-based artist strikes a brilliant balance between kinetic house music and blissful, radio-ready pop. Touting club anthems with the right dose of indie and pop flourishes, Page creates a danceable, diverse, and deep collection of songs.  "I want people to play it over and over again," concludes Page. "I want them to sing these songs back to me when I'm playing live. I want to make music that lasts."

W&W

Quote of Armin van Buuren early 2010:“W&W are truly the rising stars of trance. If I have to put my money on somebody, I put it on W&W.”

 Introduction:
What started as a chance meeting at the 2007 Trance Energy has, in just under 4 years, solidified into one of the freshest, most exciting electronic dance acts on the scene. With it has come a new multifarious trance sound that, globally, has begun to shatter underground clubs, arenas and festivals. Banding together under the name W&W has seen the collective careers of Ward van der Harst & Willem van Hanegem go into overdrive... As spinners they’ve delivered due damage to club nights and festivals and in both 2010 and 2011, their A-list-hammered track portfolio saw them conclusively tip the ‘next big thing’ scales. Now, in the new decade, W&W are ready to rule.

Ready for ‘Impact’
2011 sees the guys embark upon a new adventure. In September, the debut album of W&W will be released on Armada Music. ‘Impact’ has all the essential W&W sounds to blow you away and take you in at the same time. Including some very exciting collabs, but never losing the essential W&W strength, ‘Impact’ is set to rule speakers and headphones alike.

W&W Productions:
The serendipitous Trance Energy meet quickly bore their debut W&W production, which came in the form of the mighty ‘Mustang’. ‘Arena’  followed up its freshman success and fast found the CDJs of luminaries like Armin van Buuren,  Tiësto, Ferry Corsten, Markus Schulz, Sander Van Doorn & Judge Jules. Tipped by Armin van Buuren as “the best up-and-coming production duo out there”, W&W have continued to rock federation trance to its core with ‘Mainstage’, the Sean Tyas-remixed ‘D.N.A’ each bringing floors to critical mass. Followed by singles ‘Manhattan’, ‘Impact’, ‘AK-47’ and the very first vocal anthem ‘Three O’Clock’ featuring Ana Criado, W&W is in excellent shape for debut album ‘Impact’. Remix-side, their voracious rewires have proved equally as popular - most notably on Armin’s ‘Rain’ and those of, Aly & Fila, Allure, Marcel Woods & others.

DJs:
Almost a year to the day since Willem & Ward first shook hands they quickly took up the spinning mantle. That route has taken them to some of the most respected nights out there. Ones that have come to include Poland’s Sunrise Festival & Entrance, Trance Energy, Tomorrowland, the A State Of Trance 450 and 500 gigs, Several Global Gatherings, Nature One and clubs like Ministry Of Sound London, The Guvernment Toronto & Amnesia Ibiza to name a few.

The Mainstage Radio Show:
Now a regular standing fixture in the trance enthusiasts listening schedule, W&W’s Mainstage radio show exports their diverse sound around the world every week. Mainstage is all about showcasing the freshest music and exposing new talent to the world. Broadcasting weekly on Sirius XM, Kiss FM (Ukraine), Dance Paradise Radio (Brazil) and bi-weekly on the renowned Afterhours FM.  In and amongst the intriguing Mainstage ID feature, where every week they’ll be playing a track so hot-damn fresh-off-the-desk, it can’t even be named, you'll also now be able to vote in... Most Wanted! Through the fan forum you'll be able to pick you favorite track of the fortnight and vote on it. The winner will be duly crowned 'Most Wanted' on the following show.

Zeds Dead

8:30PM - 9:30PM

The tape reads Biography.  Pop it in. Rewind. Press play.
A whiskey-voiced narrator starts speaking as the hazy images come into focus.

“It’s 2010. Zeds Dead is about to play one of their first shows in the basement of a dive bar in Toronto. Behind the brick walls and the unfinished ceiling exposed wires hang freely. The air smells of booze, smoke, and sweat.  A crowd is lined up outside, flasks hang from their back pockets and cigarettes from their lips. Abandoned drinks rest on the lip of the dj booth while joints get sparked in the corners.

The tiny room is packed. Nobody quite knows how to describe the music yet.
When Hooks and DC start their set the earth trembles. The air becomes charged and almost sexual. Everyone goes crazy. You feel the music in your bones. Your marrow shakes. You don’t know what they will play next but you know it might just change your life.  Everybody at those early shows could tell - these guys are gonna be big."

Fast forward a few scenes. The narrator continues.

"It’s 2013.  Zeds Dead is killing it. They’ve got an enormous catalogue that includes remixes for some of the biggest artists out there, and releases with the most credible labels in the game. They've accumulated hundreds of millions of views online. They play tours of over 70 dates to hundreds of thousands of people. Fans love their shows, critics love their creativity, and heads love their production. They’re big. Really big."

Rewind again. Further than before.

"The date’s not important. The place is Toronto, Canada.  Teenagers Zack Rapp-Rovan and Dylan Mamid are introduced - they hit it off immediately over a shared love of classic hip hop, music production, and digging through crates. They join forces and call themselves Mass Productions aka MP Records. Dylan becomes DC and Zack becomes Hooks. They work out of DC’s often smoky garage; critiquing, dissecting and swapping samples. They grow with every tune. They get on a level where their combined sound is unified and strong.  MP releases an LP of hip hop instrumentals called Fresh Beets. It’s a pivotal moment for the duo."

Fast forward a couple chapters.

"It’s 2009 and hip hop is in a coma. Hooks and DC are about to have an epiphany that will change everything.  They thirst for something new. They want to make people move to their sounds and not just bob their heads, but
to grind, heave, shiver, stomp, and dance to their music. They want to capture the ecstasy and comradery of house, the heart pummelling thrill of Drum and Bass, the beauty of ambient music, and the heaviness of electro - all in one sound. They want to push boundaries. To challenge themselves and their listeners to”--

The movie cuts out. Ribbons of static shimmer across the blackness. Someone has taped over this part. A scene from Pulp Fiction flickers on screen. Butch and Fabienne are sitting on top of a Harley Davidson.
FABIENNE: "Who's motorcycle is this?"
BUTCH: “Its a chopper, baby."
FABIENNE: “Who’s chopper is this?"
BUTCH: "Zed's."
FABIENNE: “Who’s Zed?"
BUTCH: "Zed's dead, baby, Zed's dead."

The screen goes black.

Gareth Emery

7:30PM - 8:30PM

Most DJ/producers don't crack into the DJMag Top 100 before the age of 30. Most of them don't shun major label attention. Most of them don't have them don't have the balls to call out the scene that they belong to when it's failing to deliver the goods. And some don't even produce 'their' own tracks. Gareth Emery, with his potent blend of trance, house, electro and techno, however, is not your average major league artist.

He was a prodigious talent in his childhood, teaching himself to play the piano from the age of 4, and continuing his invaluable classical education until he began playing guitar in an indie band at 15. Neither of these were false starts

or his eventual electronic conversion; instead, both paths giving him essential experience and understanding of music and songwriting and how to convey emotion through his sounds. His baptism of fire came on a chance trance trip to Ibiza in 1998, which was followed by three years of learning the machinations of electronic music making. At the age of 22, he created a track on a laptop while on holiday in France. That track was the instant classic Mistral; a stunning debut which soon had unsuspecting pundits and clubbers alike eating out of his hands. From here onwards his career ascent was impressively - and deservedly – rapid.

“I guess it’s just good, melodic dance music,” he says of his musical style. “One of the most positive things about the scene over the past few years has been the gradual breaking down of genre barriers and the cross-pollination of sounds. I just look for records that I enjoy musically and also work well in a club. The genre is unimportant”. He's not afraid to meld his bold, scintillating electronic motifs with more organic flavours, with his crisp, sharp leads and basslines frequently married to soaring vocals, traditional songwriting prowess and what some might call 'proper' instruments.

While he's spent record-breaking stints at the top of Beatport's Trance sales chart, and while trance will always be a part of what he does, he won't let the sound ultimately define him. “I’ve realised that my strength is in music and melodies that touch people. I’m a music guy. It just happens to be that the music I make is electronic. That realisation

has allowed me a lot more creative freedom, then when I felt I had to write music for a certain ‘scene’.” It's this very decision which has helped him to garner such widespread acclaim and which has ensured that he's never boxed as simply a trance DJ/producer. His ambitions are bigger than any one sound or scene, and his eclectically flavoured output is testament to that fact. “The longer I’ve been producing, the less I see myself as a dance music producer and more as an artist and musician” he explains of this approach to production. “I always start a track with the music, rather than the beats, and I found the dance scene after classical piano training and years of playing guitar in bands, so I guess in a way I’ve come full circle.”

His ground-breaking podcast started back in 2006, marking him out as one of the key early adopters of the now ubiquitous format. Nominated several times for the Miami IMDA Best Podcast award, it's been a seriously important calling card for his career. “I got lucky basically. But I also never had any musical rules about the show; it was always whatever tracks I liked that week, regardless of whether they fitted my sets. Down the line that allowed me to be more innovative and varied with my DJ sets.” He's consistently voted inside the DJMag Top 100 DJs Poll - peaking at Number 7 - with his burgeoning Garuda party selling out Manchester's legendary Sankeys four times in a row and spawning a critically acclaimed compilation, The Sound Of Garuda. Building a musical brand around his name in record shops, download stores, radio and clubland has given him an all-encompassing reputation in dance music which is rivalled by few.

His 2012 is off to a huge start, with latest single Concrete Angel premiered on Judge Jules’ Radio 1 show , and its video added to the prestigious MTV Dance playlist as well as racking up 1 million YouTube plays in its first three weeks online. He’s been chosen as a resident for Las Vegas’s Marquee -  one of the most outstanding club venues in the world in the city that everyone’s calling the new Ibiza - while he’s also playing the enormous Ultra Music Festival and taking Garuda to Space Miami. Clocking up air miles like nobody's business, he's massively in demand across the globe, his continually evolving sound gaining him bookings at an impressive variety of clubs and festivals the world over.

As you can probably tell, Gareth Emery is a man of hard-graft and sizeable ambition. His ambitions are impressive, with a view to produce bands and other artists in the future. His focus for the foreseeable future is on building further on the huge platform that Garuda sits on, taking his club nights and new show across the globe, while continuing to create more slices of 'anti-genre' dancefloor gold.

Creating a perfect in-studio/behind-the-decks storm, 10 years into their career they became the highest-climbers on DJ Mag's 2009 Top 100 chart and landed back amongst the 25 biggest DJs in the world the following year. Powered by their hugely received albums, club-rocking singles (inc. 'Not Enough Time', 'Body of Conflict', 'Analog Feel' and 'F.A.V.') and scene-defining classics 'Fire Wire' and 'Exploration of Space' their space in EDM's hall of fame has been secured.

In their homeland of Germany, they've retained a consistent level of chart success, with no fewer than 7 Top 40 singles to their name and scored a UK top 10 hit with 'Fire Wire'. Following the early long-players 'Rythm & Drums' and 'No More Sleep', in 2006 they released 'Earth Mover', which saw them palpably shift towards edgier, more capacious electronic dance music. It gave rise to the club hits 'Analog Feel', 'Should Have Known' and 'I Feel Wonderful' and garnered an IDMA nomination for Best Album of 2007. Latterly the album has been viewed by both press and fans as a new 'year-one' for the act. Three years later they released 'Sign of the Times', which contained 11 new tracks including the vocal anthems 'Body of Conflict' & 'Not Enough Time' (featuring Denise Rivera and Emma Hewitt respectively) and the singles 'F.A.V.', 'Flatline', 'Under Your Spell', 'London Rain' and title track. The response to the album was dramatic, with the pair receiving a Best Selling Trance Act nomination in the 2010 Beatport Awards, an IDMA nom for 'Not Enough Time' and prompted a near unprecedented 43 position move up DJ Mag's Top 100 chart. In light of its extraordinary level of success, in September 2010 a double-disc Deluxe Edition of the album was released which included all the singles remixes and exclusive, specially prepared revamps of other S.O.T.T. tracks.

At the start of 2011, with the release of 'Back 2 The Future', the Cosmics blurred the line between the compilation and artist album. Collaborating with some of their own favourite producers, they remix-revisited still-much-in-demand tracks from their first two albums. With producers like Markus Schulz, Arty, Robbie Rivera, Wippenberg, Jochen Miller, Arnej and Rank 1 remixing tracks including 'The Drums', Fire Wire', 'Exploration of Space' and 'Back 2 Earth', it produced a single release run that saw Cosmic Gate take up residence on Beatport's top 10 chart for an unbroken, unprecedented 3 months. The final months of 2011 will see the highly anticipated release of Cosmic Gate's fifth studio album, 'Wake Your Mind'.

As DJs Nic and Bossi continue to whip floors into frenzies in all four corners. In North America of late they've smashed the Electric Daisy Carnival, Electric Zoo, Nocturnal festivals and road-blocked clubs and events that include Bal En Blanc & Guvernment (Canada), ASOT500 at the Ultra Music Festival, Miami, Pacha, NYC and their Marquee, Las Vegas residency. Throughout the 2011 season they've achieved yet broader span Isla Blanca appeal with forum-praised performances at Space, Eden, Privilege and Sankeys on Ibiza. Likewise floors have been shaken in other European hotspots (ASOT500, Holland, Tomorrowland, Belgium, Global Gathering, UK among them) and further afield at Future Music Festival, Australia and Zouk, Singapore. Most notably perhaps they sold out their 2000 capacity event on Honolulu, Hawaii - making Cosmic Gate one of the just a handful of EDM acts ever to have done so. They've appeared in DJ Magazine's list of Top 100 spinners for 7 consecutive years now and in February 2011, off the back of their increasingly high-profile gig diary, they were asked by BBC Radio 1 to perform their first Essential Mix for the station.

Back2Back, Cosmic Gate's on-going compilation series was devised as an at-home audio-expo of the pair's club-wowing sound. 2010 saw the release of the 4th volume (through Holland's highly-respected Black Hole Recordings label). Bringing Nic & Bossi tight, tense, future-proofed trance/prog/electro hybrid to the forefront, it once again included many of their own track edits.

Over their production lifetime, the Cosmic Gate remix has become almost as illustrious as their productions. In essence a blow-by-blow of trance music's A-list, Nic and Bossi have lent their studio know-how to productions from Armin van Buuren, Tiësto, Paul van Dyk, Above & Beyond's OceanLab project, Markus Schulz, Deadmau5, Robbie Rivera & Rank 1. They rewired John O'Callaghan's mega-seller 'Find Yourself' to devastating effect and produced remixes of veteran trance producer Vincent De Moor's 'Fly Away' and 'Carte Blanche' (Veracocha). In early 2010 Atlantic Records US approached them to remix James Horner's 'I See You' - the main theme from the film Avatar. This run culminated in them being nominated for Best Remixer at the 2010 IDMAs. Most recently they have reworked Ferry Corsten's classic 'Punk'.

Oliver Twizt

Where is this Oliver Twizt from?
Born in the Netherlands in 1983 he s been scouring the local record shops ever since he can remember – at the time it was mainly hardcore and hiphop that caught his ear and eye, cultivating a serious addiction to gangster rap but all the while he also liked the “Ruffneck rules the Artcore scene” stuff…pretty weird for a black kid..

Yeah ok what happened with that weird kid?
After Oliver discovered Fruity Loops in 2000 at the green age of 17 (nowadays FL Studio) he started getting into music production and fancied himself somewhat of a Timbaland of his time – all the while his first baby steps in the magical world of music creation got him some attention of his bestest of friends only – nonetheless he was PROUD!

But that was around the Millennium what happened since then?
OK – Flash forward to 2006 , finished grammar school 2 years delayed due to diverted interests in creation of Jackin’ Beats, going to clubs and hitting on girls; fast tracked through Tech Uni becoming Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design decided to bin the school career in favour of the unsure future of making a career out of making those fidgety sounding techno shuffled ghetto beats.

Didn’t he have to do something with Skitzofrenix?
Yes! Under his moniker of J Twizt he did the productional honors for various prolific remixes and tracks for labels such as Sidney Samson’s Samsobeats, Gregor Salto s G Rex Recordings, with the J abbreviated from Joel - his real-life first name.

So *huh* I still don t get the name Oliver Twizt?
Well pretty soon – we are now talking like 2008 – 2009 -  the productional mastermind got the itch to DJ himself and venture out on his own – to avoid confusion the new aka was created this time made up of his second real life name combined with the old moniker et voila! Oliver Twizt was born!

OK, ok and how did going solo work out for him?
Pretty good really! Oliver’s first solo track feat MC Roga “Do The Monkey” entered the UK Buzz Charts at number 4 and got wide support by the likes of Roger Sanchez, Sander van Doorn, Carl Cox, Judge Jules and many more. Quite soon Oliver started taking over charts with tracks like “Underground”, “Finally” (with Bart B More, #2 Beatport Chart), “You’re Not Alone” (#1 PH chart Beatport, “Another Step” which was a top 10 best sold Hed Kandi record in 2009 and remixed Bart B More, Sander van Doorn, Erick E and  many more!

And how is it all looking for Oliver Twizt now?
Oliver continued with a steady slew of releases, remix for Pitbull featuring Marc Anthony “Rain over Me”, his remix for Sandro Silva feat Bizzey “Get Lower” both made name for themselves on the charts. Following releases include “Love Trip” (Spinnin’), hi co-production “Go” with Diplo, official remix of “Give me all your luvin” for the one and only Madonna. Latest addition to this already impressive list is his collaboration with Sandro Silva called “Gladiator” released on Mixmash

What s coming next?
In the first three months of 2012 Oliver Twizt already joined Laidback Luke on his “Speak Up” bus tour in the US as well as headlining his own Australia tour. While touring in OZ he teamed up with Mr. Wilson and Tom Piper to work on some great new releases. His remix for Napt & Peo De Pitte (Vicious) is another project soon to be released. With this and many more up his sleeve Oliver will continue to ride the musical swell and is slated to keep surprising the world with his eclectic sounds

– Expect the Unexpected!!

Harddance music is rising out of the underground into the international mainstream. On the forefront of it is D-block & S-te-Fan. This energetic Dj-duo has been the co-founders of the harddance as it is right now; Energetic, melodic and powerful. They showed their talent multiple times over the last couple of years which resulted in numerous hit records as: Music made addict, Rockin ' ur mind, Sound of Thunder, Ride with uz and the Magical mystery. Born as Diederik Bakker and Stefan den Daas, they decided to become D-Block & S-te-Fan in 2004 when they met in a local record store. From that moment on their unique and melodic sound got picked up by all the artists representing the harder styles in dance music. They have been releasing on the record labels of; Dj Dana, Dj Luna, Dj Isaac, Dj Zany and Dj the Prophet before they decided to develop their musical vision on their own label: Scantraxx Evolutionz.

Their catchy sound and stage-performances didn't go unnoticed. They got picked up by all the big organizations promoting Harddance which resulted in many main-performances from 2006 till date. To name a few: Decibel(50000, 5 years) DefQon(40000, 4 years) Mysteryland(65000, 3 years)Qlimax, Gelredome(30000, 3 years) on which they provided the anthem in 2009.

In 2009 B2S chose them to be the host of Thrillogy 2009, held in Brabanthallen. This unique concept hosts 3 area, containing 3 different styles in which Harddance is considered to be the main style for the night. In preparation of this night, they produced and released an Artist album, called: Music made addictz. This cd was very well received and putted them right on top of the scene.

2010 brought them to their ultimate goals. By getting asked for January 2011's X-Qlusive DBlock & S-te-Fan was their dream coming true. This solo event, which takes place in the Heineken Music Hall (7500) in Amsterdam. In preparation to this event they did an anthem for 10 years of Q-Dance, a party held in the Amsterdam Arena (40000) and were the closing act of Mysteryland (65000). With huge demand on tickets they organized a "running up" party in Rotterdam's Outland(3200) which got sold out for the first time ever on a special night about a Harddance artist.

It was this night where they heard about their top 100 entry in the most prestigious Dj-list; the DJ MAG top 100. Placed #73 they were crowned "Worlds #1 Harddance duo". Living up to their title, they sold out their solo-event in the HMH 12 weeks in advance.

Releasing a mixed album on the night of the event, they kicked off their world tour in 2011. This tour contained over 40 gigs in 3 months crossing 25 countries, which established their name globally. Besides the tour and a very busy European schedule, they managed to release over 20 tracks already in 2011. Being featured in this years DJ-MAG again makes an end to any doubt. Harddance is here to stay, and Harddance is D-Block & S-te-Fan!

Hardwell

Music maturity came swiftly for the now seasoned-veteran Robbert van de Corput, better known as Hardwell. At the age of 24, the ripened heavyweight has created a legacy that would put most of his counterparts to shame. An award-winning DJ, producer, musician, label manager, lover of all things music, and #6 ranked in the DJ Mag Top 100, Hardwell has not only helped shape the current state of EDM, but has left an everlasting imprint.

Like his great mentor Tiësto, Hardwell proudly hails from Breda, a city tucked deep within the Netherlands. At the young age of 13, Hardwell’s talents were so advanced that he was able capture the ears of a major Dutch label. Shortly after signing, Hardwell was spinning at all the major clubs across the Netherlands. Hardwell’s international breakthrough came with his “Show Me Love vs. Be” bootleg, which became one of the popular and played dance hits of 2009. From this point on, a star was born.

Through his refreshing sound that is characterized by complex drum ensembles, daring synths, and emotive chords, Hardwell has created the ultimate recipe for “Big Room House.” His productions are received with such great praise and acclaim, it seems his shelf life is endless. As his reputation grows amongst the world’s partygoers, so does his status. He was recently voted #6 in the 2012 edition of the DJ Mag Top 100, the most prestigious of industry competitions. In tandem with his worldwide popularity is his “fresh and open-minded” label Revealed Recordings, which continues to gain international momentum.

With the launching of Revealed in 2010, so did Hardwell’s celebrated compilation series. Hardwell Presents Revealed offers listeners with a representative aural compilation of Revealed’s stance on the current trends driving EDM.

In March of 2011, Hardwell launched his very own radio show and podcast, Hardwell On Air, which is broadcasted on more than 25 international radio stations, including Holland’s top dance station, SLAM!FM, Sirius XM in the US, and Radio FG in France and Belgium. Additionally, the podcast has a solid spot in the iTunes Top 10 Podcasts in more than 30 countries.

The buck did not stop there. In 2011, Hardwell released juggernaut tracks like “Encoded,” a YouTube sensation, “Zero 76”, a collaboration with Tiësto topping the #1 Beatport and #1 US iTunes spot, and “Cobra,” a tune that went to #1 in the dance charts in Holland and Top 10 on Beatport’s Progressive House chart.

2012 has seen as much success as the previous years with the recent remixes of Rihanna’s track “Where Have You Been” and The Wanted’s “Chasing the Sun” reaching #1 on Billboard’s Dance Chart. Hardwell and Dannic’s remix for Example, “Say Nothing,” received a #1 spot in the Cool Cut Chart, while Tiësto & Hardwell’s remix for “Young Blood,” by the indie rock band The Naked And Famous, became the festival circuit’s summer anthem. Hardwell has also collaborated alongside Showtek to produce the track “How We Do,” with the music video premiered on MTV US. However, Hardwell’s biggest track of 2012 has been the solo-original better known as “Spaceman,” which has seen more sets, bootlegs, and remixes than any of his previous releases. “Spaceman” was released in over 25 countries worldwide and its infectious hooks will be heard for ages. Next, Hardwell’s “Three Triangles,” released on Mark Knight’s label, Toolroom, and “Kontiki,” co-produced with rising star Dannic, hit the Beatport Top 10. Finally, Hardwell’s most recent undertaking has been his hard-hitting organic track, “Apollo,” featuring Amba Shepherd. Aside from his releases, Hardwell took to the decks of Pete Tong’s famous BBC Essential Mix, where Hardwell’s prowess was so distinctively displayed.

As for his live component, one could start by looking at Hardwell’s 2012 Tomorrowland set, which has reached millions of views on YouTube has been dubbed by many as a contender for the best set of the year. Hardwell has headlined the most prestigious and crowd-pleasing of festivals in the world such as Electronic Daisy Carnival, Ultra Music Festival, Electric Zoo, Creamfields, Tomorrowland, Mysteryland, and various Sensations, including Amsterdam’s. Hardwell’s personal side is also displayed in his Q&A series on YouTube, where he answers the most begging of questions his fans have to offer. As said by Hardwell himself, “With the opportunities of social media today, it's super easy to be in direct contact with your fans, however it's impossible to respond to each and everyone through Twitter or Facebook. That's how I came up with this idea, to give my fans the opportunity to ask me their questions and to have the chance to answer them in a fun way!”

Besides showcasing his talents for major artists worldwide, and proving himself not only in the studio, but also behind the decks, we can be assured that the Hardwell name, face, and brand is a force that will drive electronic dance music for years to come.

Dash Berlin

8:00PM - 9:30PM

Dash Berlin is the future.

Dash Berlin is a true deejay at heart with a profound passion for the comprehensive culture of dance music. He is often described as an invigorating and charismatic newcomer, with the unique ability to leave a long-lasting impression upon his audience well after the night is over. Dash is one of those rare individuals that seems to understand the unwritten laws of the nightclub by nature. He keeps his ever expanding, nocturnal following alert, ecstatic and craving for more, with remarkable precision and skill. One could easily mistake him for a superstar deejay. However, the truth remains that Dash Berlin views the world through the same eyes as his public. “It’s virtually impossible to make progress without the continuing support of the people”, he humbly said.

The early years
Dash Berlin was born as Jeff X. Sutorius, in November 1979, in The Hague, the Netherlands. A family with wide musical tastes surrounded him and because of his late father, who was a distinguished drummer in a jazz band; Dash became acquainted with the typical marks of rhythmic music at a very young age. While still at high school, he became a devoted fan of electronic music, regularly enjoying mix tapes that his older sister brought home from the clubs she worked at as a professional dancer.

In his late teens, Dash Berlin started working at a record shop and became a dedicated vinyl collector with a fascination for melodic, synthesized house music, subsequently known as ‘Trance’. Inspired by pioneering figures such as; Sven Väth, Oliver Lieb and Sander Kleinenberg, he slowly but surely started to develop his own innovative style of mixing and producing. His hidden work ethic seemed not to be about producing more, but rather less and differently. It is this vision that still sets him apart in a crowded and highly competitive scene.

Propelled by his passion, he literally performed everywhere, from nine-hour long gigs in shopping malls to the notorious illegal Dutch warehouse parties. During his set on the world famous Love Parade, Dash decided to incorporate the word ‘Berlin’ in his artist name. “It’s an ode to a metropolis and her engaging, urban landscape,” he said, “Where I have seen more than a million people dancing on the streets, in the in the spirit of an ever-evolving Europe”.

The birth of Dash Berlin
In early 2006, he teamed up with fellow producers and close friends, Molijn & Kalberg, who were regular customers at his record shop. “These guys are amazing visionaries and astonishing studio wizards, they are the foundation of my sound”, Dash remarked. “I still learn from them every day.”

Together, they designed an ambitious and unprecedented new sound of Trance, quickly labeled as the ‘Dash Berlin Sound’. Futuristic, scintillating, but above all, moving and emotive music that relates to the universal dance floor experience, shared by innumerable music fans from multifarious cultures around the globe. Although a vigorous believer in political awareness, the message of Dash Berlin is simple; “It’s all about having a good time again,” he stated, “the art of celebrating life resonates inside of everyone”.

In 2007, none other than Armin van Buuren revealed his newfound discovery to the world and featured Dash Berlin’s debut record ‘Till The Sky Falls Down’ on his legendary ‘Universal Religion’ album. The track became one of the most memorable, global anthems that year and remains one of the cultivated blueprints of the new Trance renaissance. The black & white music video that complimented the radio mix was shot in the heart of Berlin proper. The clip grew to be a genuine labor of love, using the latest in digital cinematography, and successfully avoided the typical clichés of contemporary dance music videos.

Expanding the Dash Berlin universe
In the beginning of 2009, under the mighty wings of Armada Music, plans emerged to expand the Dash Berlin universe with his very own label called ‘Aropa’. It represents an eclectic high-quality outlet for Dash Berlin’s avant-garde productions and collaborations. The label also built a solid foundation for rising talent and established like-minded artists. “The Aropa brand holds a deeper connotation too”, Dash revealed, “It also stands for the axiom of sharing art, inspiration and creativity”. The first release was the monster anthem ‘Man On The Run’, which is a prolific collaboration with fellow Armada artists Cerf, Mitiska & Jaren. The track sky rocketed to the top of the international Trance charts and received a prestigious nomination for ‘Best Trance Track’ at the annual Trance Awards.

October 2009 brought the global release of Dash Berlin’s critically acclaimed debut album: ‘The New Daylight’. Besides being a varied collection of styles, it also features instant classics such as: ‘Till The Sky Falls Down’, ‘Man On The Run’, ‘Waiting’ and ‘Never Cry Again’. Each of the individual music videos of these anthems, being pieces of visual art, make up for millions of views on YouTube. With the creation and release of a free Dash Berlin iPhone app, the hard working deejay reaffirms his forward-thinking multimedia mindset.

His dedicated fans actively vote for him when it matters the most. This loyal support already resulted in an astonishing Top 10 position in DJ Mag’s Top 100 of 2011. It also gained him honorable spots on events like Trance Energy and the A State of Trance celebrations, two of the largest and most essential Trance events in the world. These past years of voting rewarded him with several nominations for International Dance Music Awards, resulting in adopting the title ‘Best Hi-NRG/Euro Track’ for ‘Waiting’ ft. Emma Hewitt.

#musicislife
The past four years have all caused a reverberating bang when it comes to the Dash Berlin sound. From the ‘United Destionation’ compilation series, which reflects his recent gigs with a top selection of tracks straight from his record bag into two seamless deejay mixes, to making a great rise in the DJ Mag Top 100, taking in a solid number 7 position. 2013 promises to be another momentous year for Dash Berlin. A year all about the follow-up of ‘The New Daylight’.

With his brand-new ‘#musicislife’ album, aptly named after one of his most popular Twitter hash tags, the ‘Flying Dutchman’ shows no signs of slowing down and is all set for his monster #musicislife World Tour. Dash Berlin’s much anticipated follow-up record contains signature hits such as ‘Disarm Yourself’, which features the angelic vocals of Australian singer Emma Hewitt, ‘Better Half Of Me’ & ‘World Falls Apart’ the epic duology with top vocalist Jonathan Mendelsohn, the magical team up with German DJ superstar ATB on ‘Apollo Road’ and of course exciting new collaborations with artists such as Emma Hewitt, Shogun, Kate Walsh, Shanokee, Chris Madin, Hoyaa and Sarah Howells. British singer-songwriter Howells joins Berlin on his new single ‘Go It Alone’ accompanied by a gorgeous music video shot in South Africa. The video got half a million views within the first week of its appearance on YouTube.

Headhunterz

Rising from the rapidly expanding hard dance scene, Headhunterz had claimed a top position in the world by reaching an amazing 11th place in the DJ MAG Top 100.  This remarkable feat comes after a series of acclaimed main stage performances, three albums, several chart topping anthems and remixes, and his leading, genre-defining, hardstyle podcast named HARD with STYLE.  Headhunterz has also hosted the Amsterdam Dance Event’s biggest event by debuting the brand-new, state-of-the-art concert stadium Ziggo Dome. On top of his musical career comes a strong character    , which echoes through, in a massive and engaged following world-wide and on the web.

As the first of a new generation of hard dance artists, Headhunterz released a series of hit records since his debit in 2006. Among his greatest pieces of work are ‘Rock Civilization’, ‘Power Of The Mind (Qlimax 2007 Anthem)’, ‘The Sacrifice’, ‘Scrap Attack (Defqon.1 Festival 2009 Anthem)’, ‘From Within’, ‘Dragonborn’, his remix of Nicky Romero’s ‘Toulouse’ and his remix of Kaskade ft. Neon Trees’ ‘Lessons in Love’, which has seen substantial chart-success.

In 2008, together with fellow producer Wildstylez, he created quite a stir within the international dance community with the ‘Project One’ campaign. By producing a highly successful studio album in less than three months, they set new standards and confirmed their abilities as musicians. The tour following the release had high international acclaim but by limiting it to just five performances, it drove the demand to new heights. In 2010, the second album ‘Studio Sessions’ created an equally massive impact and was followed by a new international tour, which included the United States, Australia, Russia, Canada and several big editions in Holland.  2011 was the year Headhunterz released his album ‘Sacrifice’, from which he donated all earnings to  Dance 4 life, a charity organization raising awareness for HIV and AIDS. His track ‘Dragonborn’, which was given away for free, became a huge online hit and proved that Headhunterz has one of the most strong and dedicated online fan bases in the electronic dance community.

2012 saw Headhunterz release his chart-topping remix of Kaskade ft. Neon Trees’ ‘Lessons in Love’, and his successful remixes of Hardwell’s ‘Spaceman’, Zedd’s ‘Spectrum’ and Nicky Romero’s ‘Toulouse’. It was also the year where he rose to an astonishing 11th place in the DJ Mag Top 100, celebrated by a sold out show in the brand-new Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. Having signed a new recording deal with Ultra Music at the beginning of this year, 2013 will prove to be the most interesting year yet for Headhunterz.

Amongst his greatest appearances are his sold-out Q-dance presents: Headhunterz – Hard With Style show, performances at various editions of Qlimax, Defqon.1 Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival and Decibel Outdoor Festival, but also his Headhunterz branded X-Qlusive event in the Heineken Music Hall in 2010.

In May 2010 the girls released their first single - Luminary Ones. As 2010 ended, Luminary Ones had become one of the most played songs on national radio P3. In addition to touring the whole of Sweden they followed Robyn as opening act on her European tour.

If that was not enough - Swedish Television followed the girls for several months, which has resulted in their own self-titled tv-show. Wherein you can follow their work as DJs, producers and urban girls.

2011 became an even bigger year for Rebecca & Fiona, they released their double platinum selling single Bullets, the double a side If She Was Away/Hard and the smash single Jane Doe. Firebeatz stormed onto the Dance music scene in 2008. Releases such as “Funky Shit”, “Where’s Your Head At“, “Miniman”, "Dear New York" and "Here We F*cking Go", all achieved top positions on Beatport’s Main Chart, and put the Dutch duo firmly on the map. Since this Firebeatz are regarded as one of Dance music’s hottest prospects and are consistently
championed by the scene’s biggest names.

Summer of 2012 saw the release of the Firebeatz and Chocolate Puma collaboration “Just One More Time Baby”, hammered by Pete Tong it received brilliant critiques and dominated the Beatport House chart for weeks. Fresh off the success of “Just One More Time Baby” they released “Dear New York", a collaboration with rising talent Schella, it enjoyed massive DJ
support, and peaked at #2 in Beatport’s Main Top 100.

Since the start of 2013 the guys have been cranking out one club banger after another such as “Gangster”, “Ding Dong” (alongside Bobby Burns) and “Yeahhh”. Firebeatz are one of the most in demand remixers around at the moment and worked on tracks by the likes of James Blunt, Snoop Dogg, Freestylers, Flo Rida, Timbaland, Bingo Players and Sean Paul. They’ve been commissioned to remix the Calvin Harris and Ayah Marar collab “Thinking About You”, it’s due out soo n through Sony Music.

Coming of a constant winning streak of dance floor weapons, Firebeatz impresses yet again with latest release “Wonderful”. Just out on Spinnin’Records it already caught the ears of big guns such as Sander van Doorn, Afrojack , Chuckie and Thomas Gold. With its super addictive lead vocal and main theme it’s definitely set to shape up to be one of the biggest hits of summer 2013.

On the gig front Firebeatz have notched up considerable success in their own right. Rocking the best clubs and festivals across the planet it seems that nothing can stop the Firebeatz rollercoaster!

Darin Epsilon

2:00PM - 3:30PM

Internationally acclaimed DJ, producer, radio host, and label owner Darin Epsilon is often referred to as a leader of the Progressive & Tech House scene. His Perspectives radio show and podcast, along with his frequent guest appearances on Sirius/XM Satellite Radio (www.siriusxm.com), allow him to reach tens of thousands of listeners on a regular basis. His SoundCloud page (www.soundcloud.com/darinepsilon) alone has over 400,000 total plays and receives a whopping 10,000 plays per month. He launched his record label Perspectives Digital (www.perspectivesdigital.com) in November 2010 as an extension of the brand, further solidifying his influence and presence within the global dance community. To top it all, he was named one of the winners in John Digweed & Beatport’s DJ Competition during the summer of 2011.

As a gifted student of music from an early age, former record shop employee, and former director of a college radio station, Darin draws inspiration from his nearly encyclopedic knowledge and genuine appreciation of electronic music. He cites a variety of important influences in the past decade, from the early Leftfield and Future Sound of London albums, to the iconic Global Underground compilation series, to the sweeping sounds of Paul Oakenfold circa 1999, to Sasha & Digweed’s mind-blowing Delta Heavy tour in 2002.

Darin’s refined taste in music and natural ear for a catchy tune has translated into the production world as well. He gained the attention of the industry’s elite early on with his first-ever original tune titled Bluephobia. The track debuted on Hernan Cattaneo’s now legendary Metrodance radio show in 2007 and proved to be monumental success, even spawning a series of viral YouTube videos. Following the success of Bluephobia, he continued turning heads with remixes for high-profile artists Matthew Dekay, Chris Fortier, D:FUSE, Kenneth Thomas, and Noel Sanger.

To date, Darin has released music on many of the industry’s most respected labels, including Hope Recordings, microCastle, Perfecto, Armada, Black Hole, Flow Vinyl, Mesmeric, and Baroque Records. His productions have entered Beatport’s Top 100 Progressive House chart numerous times and are featured in the compilations of Markus Schulz and Paul Oakenfold, among many others. He counts Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, John Digweed, Sasha, Dave Seaman, Paul Oakenfold, Jody Wisternoff (Way Out West), Sandra Collins, and D:FUSE amongst his regular supporters.

If you have ever been in the audience to catch one of his live sets, it becomes immediately apparent that he is proficiently skilled as a DJ as well. His frequent flyer miles seem almost continually on the rise with regular tours around the world. He has electrified audiences across the United States, as well as headlined shows in Kenya, Argentina, Russia, UK, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Bulgaria, Peru, Colombia, Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica.

Within Los Angeles, where he currently resides, he often plays for the city’s most prestigious clubs, including Avalon (Urb Magazine’s 2009 Club of the Year and 40th on DJ Mag’s Top 100 Clubs of 2009), Vanguard, Playhouse, and Circus. Over the years, he has shared the spotlight with many of dance music’s superstars including Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, John Digweed, James Zabiela, Sander Kleinenberg, Fedde Le Grand, John Graham (Quivver), Josh Gabriel (Gabriel & Dresden), Jody Wisternoff (Way Out West), Paul Harris (Dirty Vegas), Dirty South, Dave Audé, Morgan Page, and countless others.

However, it would be foolish to say that his achievements have been purely confined to the club setting. Global brands such as MTV, American DJ, American Audio, Elation Professional, and Global Truss have all called upon him to provide the soundtrack to their videos. His music can also be found in the films Ecstasy (www.facebook.com/xtcfilm) and Slip Cue (www.slipcuemovie.com), placing him in a small category of producers that have ever made it onto the big screen.

With hard work, passion, pure dedication to his art, and support from the industry’s most revered names, this Chicago native turned LA transplant aims to prove that this is only the beginning to a long and promising career.

R3hab

6:30PM - 7:30PM

A small number of DJ-producers can claim to touch the success that R3hab – real name Fadil El Ghoul – has earned over the course of his young career; in fact, the youngster’s rapid rise through the ranks of the electronic music world has been almost unsurpassed. If few DJs can say their own sound verges on a standalone and established genre; even fewer can do it in such a short space of time. R3hab’s brand of ‘Chainsaw Madness’ has created such a stir in the scene that time-honored acts are constantly in line to show their support - Tiesto, Afrojack and Calvin Harris (to name but a few) are all keen followers of the Dutchman’s signature noise. Selling out the most coveted of clubs, in demand for highest profile remixes and continually creating the most progressive Dance Music around - 2013 is set to be uniformly unrivalled.

2012 started with a bang as R3hab was crowned victor in the Miami Winter Music Conference’s IDMA ‘Breakthrough Artist Award’ back in March. The sought after accolade naturally propelled his career towards the United States; a place he now considers ‘a home-from-home’. Not that Fadil can ever stay in one place for long however; fiercely requested the world over, the following months were spent touring as a solo artist with his signature sound reverberating around the walls of Asia, Europe and Australia in the most popular of clubbing destinations. As if these abundant sell-out shows were not confirmation enough for R3hab’s status as global sensation, DJ Mag underscored this emphatically in October 2012 as he came in at #73 in their annual ‘Top 100 DJs’.

A touring DJ however, is merely a half of R3hab’s supremacy. Teaming up with fellow compatriot Afrojack on the electrifying ‘Prutataaa’, R3hab created a mainstage masterpiece for the summer of 2012, entering into the Top 10 of the Beatport Electro Chart within days of its release. His collaboration with Swanky Tunes and Max C ‘Sending My Love’ was also given early support by Swedish House Mafia when it was played in their set at the iTunes Festival, pulling in tens of thousands of listeners, and reaching a coveted #2 on the Beatport overall chart.

Beyond this, writing and producing collaborations with some of the hottest acts around has showcased a whole other side to him as a multi-faceted artist. Featuring the globally recognized Antipodean singer Havana Brown, his smash hit ‘You’ll Be Mine’ recently topped the Australian charts, which opened the Dutch star up to a brand new fan base. Furthermore, time spent producing with the legend that is Enrique Iglesias also shaped one of the biggest dance floor fillers of the year; ‘Finally Found You’ put him in front of the eyes and ears of a truly global audience and further cemented the fact that R3hab’s favorite territory – like so many of the greats – is of course, the studio. When it comes to production prowess, you’d be hard pushed to find anybody with more of it than R3hab.

R3hab’s crossover from the Electronic arena to multiple genres has also left some of Pop’s glitterati knocking at his door. He has gone on to re-work Lady Gaga’s ‘Marry The Night’, Calvin Harris’s ‘We’ll Be Coming Back’, Katy Perry’s ‘The One That Got Away’, No Doubt’s ‘Looking Hot’, Pitbull’s ‘Back In Time’ and Madonna’s ‘Turn Up The Radio’ in quick succession plus collaborations with David Guetta and Usher to add to his lengthy bow.

Although still young, R3hab has unquestionably honed his craft of producing personal tracks. His ‘Living for the City’ release has received heavy support from Beatport buyers going straight in at #5 in the overall chart within a matter of days! More recently, Fadil was honoured the opportunity of producing EDC Orlando’s official 2012 anthem ‘A Night In’ – a track that set the blogosphere ablaze and sent critics shouting from the rooftops. Previewed on Soundcloud his latest smash with ZROQ ‘Skydrop’ clocked up an astounding 175,000 hits before it’s official release on Tiesto’s Musical Freedom label receiving rave reviews across the globe.  With many more productions under his belt, hints at future singles, worldwide tours and huge collaborations coming soon it’s amazing to think the world has only seen the start of R3hab.

Carnage

5:30PM - 6:30PM

"Making music is about having an impact," exclaims DJ Carnage.

It's easy to feel the impact on every track the Los Angeles-based artist produces or remixes. With a versatile mindset and deft approach, he siphons electro, hip hop, pop, and trap into an intoxicating brew unlike anything out there. It's dirty, defiant, and diverse.

Carnage embraced music at a very young age. Before moving to the suburbs of Maryland, he grew up in Nicaragua and Guatemala. It gave him an international consciousness and perspective at a young age that would pervade his art. In order to get through long car rides with his mom, he'd make mix CDs of everything from Kanye West to Michael Jackson, and they'd listen to them together. It was with mom's encouragement that he began actually building his own tracks.

He recalls, "It's funny because one day my mom was like, 'Why don't you make your own beats?' I'd never thought of it before, so she bought me Fruity Loops. From there, I just got hooked."

He carved out a sizable local following in Maryland, slinging independent mixtapes and solidifying an online presence. Niles from The Cataracs actually stumbled upon his MySpace page and immediately became a fan. Their correspondence turned into a creative partnership and led to Carnage's signing with Indie Pop.

One of his first projects under that banner was a tripped-out and captivating remix of Yuna's "Live Your Life". Soon, Tiesto began spinning the cut on his popular Club Life podcast, while Paul Oakenfold inserted it into regular rotation on his radio show, Planet Perfecto. Carnage began turning heads. His "Festival Trap" remix of Hardwell's "Spaceman" soon exceeded 100k plays on Soundcloud, and he teamed up with Theophilus London and ASAP Rocky for the 2012 single, "Big Spender", and he co-produced The Cataracs "All You", featuring Waka Flocka Flame and Kaskade.

Everything simply laid the groundwork for the release of his proper debut, "Bang", on Fool's Gold though. It's an incendiary instrumental with a big hip hop bounce and a dubstep drop at just the right moment. "It's really massive," he enthuses. "It's a rap record with a huge drop. You never hear that kind of climax in hip hop or trap records. It's the perfect introduction to who I am because it touches on so many genres."

The single's B-side is a grimy and guttural gem that sees him collaborate with 15-year-old Chicago underground rap sensation, Katie Got Bandz. It's bound to get the internet going crazy.

There's nothing quite like seeing Carnage live though. Every show explodes based off his hyperkinetic energy and formidable presence. He's rocked stages at Nocturnal Wonderland, Electric Daisy Carnival, Coachella, and more as well as performing alongside Borgore, A-Trak, The Cataracs, and countless others.

"I'm a big black guy who loves to rage," he chuckles. "I'm not what you expect. I feed off the crowd and go for it."

That's why Carnage's impact will be felt for a long time to come.

It would take a long essay to fully explain UMEK’s meaning to electronic music. The Slovenian born producer and DJ has been setting trends and rocking dance floors for two decades now -- and still shows no signs of slowing down. He’s tireless in his techno and tech house production and with more than 100 gigs per year, probably one of the busiest techno DJs out there.

He’s not only been rocking our ears with his own productions for labels like Toolroom, Spinnin, Great Stuff, Intec and many more, but has also been heavily involved in choosing who to sign to his arty imprint 1605, which mostly supports young and talented artists who haven’t yet made it on the global party scene.

Having conquered most of world’s biggest stages and festivals, UMEK started his own weekly radio show “Behind the Iron Curtain,” which immediately landed on dozens of the world’s hippest EDM radio stations.

Although he probably holds a national record for the number of flights per year, UMEK still finds time for charity. Every August he hosts a charity event called “Party with a Cause,”  where local sponsors help raise money for a certain cause, mostly to help underprivileged youth.

Jamie Jones has achieved in the space of a few short years what many producers try for a lifetime. Turning his hand to a variety of styles while still maintaining a strong signature sound, Jones has created an admired musical identity and a loyal global following.

One of techno’s rising stars, Jamie Jones is part of a new guard of house and techno djs who resonate as artists, party people, djs, and live acts. Raised in Wales (which most people don’t hold against him), Jamie’s university days in London helped launch his infatuation with club culture that would bring him to Ibiza during the summers.

Ultimately relationships forged and those island summers helped him become an integral cog in thriving music scenes in Ibiza and later East London, where Jones’s bustling djscandance warehouse parties and regular gigs at Fabric helped him make his mark in London during his winters. During the summer, gigs and residencies like the Space Terrace, Manumission’s Music Box Room, and later DC10 (a club he frequented as a one of the first regulars in his early days on the island) helped him gain a foothold in the Ibiza Scene while defining a sound that was uniquely, electronic, soulful, and bouncy, with a consistent groove. During one of these summers in Ibiza, he played his creation Amazon, to Freak n’ Chic boss Dan Ghenacia who signed it on the spot.

Amazon, when released, was well received and immediately drew Jones favorable comparisons to luminaries like Mathew Jonson and Carl Craig and went on to become the labels biggest selling record. Jamie followed that standout release with recordings on leading labels like Crosstown Rebels, Get Physical, Cocoon, Poker Flat and far too many more to mention. Consistent to his production quality are low wobbly basslines, dissonant and hypnotic keyboard lines, crisp snares, and the aforementioned steady groove.

Since Then, Jamie’s relationship with Crosstown Rebels has grown. 2009 saw him release Summertime EP, which went on to become the labels biggest selling single. He also had the unprecedented accolade of having 3 tracks in the Beatport top 10 concurrently. His Debut album ‘don’t you remember the future’ also on Rebels has been hailed by Press and Dance Music critics across the globe as the best electronic album of the year.

In 2009 I released my debut Album "Dont you remember the future" which has been one of the biggest dance albums of the year.

Damian Lazarus

7:00PM - 9:00PM

Since the moment he spun his first record, Damian Lazarus's mission has been a clear and urgent one: to blow away the mediocre, the over-inflated, the obsolete; to seek out and celebrate the energetic, the important, the new. Always rebelling, always going places.
"...and to have fun in the process. Playing around with different styles and ideas is what I do best," Lazarus explains.

Driven by an almost childlike curiosity, a vivid imagination and wicked sense of humour, he's used his role as a DJ, label owner and now musician to nurture and share the most exciting and experimental music on the planet. Drawn to the darkness, but buoyed by the light, ever ready to embrace new ideas and different perspectives on music and the dancefloor, Lazarus is always ahead of the curve, with a wry smile on his face and a neat trick up his sleeve, How many DJs do you know who've played 'Reviewing The Situation (from the Oliver! soundtrack, no less) half-speed to a jubilant crowd at DC10 in Ibiza. How many DJs do you know who've received a sitting ovation on the dancefloor?
Lazarus was born in London, where he lived until he relocated to Los Angeles in 2009. During childhood, Damian was naturally drawn to classic pop music, and inherited from his grandfather an affection for showtunes which continues to exert itself in the strangest of ways. He spent his teens immersing himself in the sounds of hip-hop, electro, soul and funk, before discovering house, hardcore and jungle at university - sparking a love of twisted, innovative dance music which endures to this day. After working as Music Editor then Assistant Editor at Dazed & Confused, Lazarus joined London Records and in 2001 became head A&R of the City Rockers label. Here he helped sign and release some of the biggest tunes of the era, including Felix Da Housecat's 'Silver Screen Shower Scene' and Tiga & Zyntherius's 'Sunglasses at Night'; his Futurism and Futurism 2 compilations remain the definitive documents of electroclash, not only providing a snapshot of the underground at that crucial moment in time, but mapping its future too.
Damian received a major Djing break in 2002 when he was invited to spin at Barcelona's Sonar Festival and by 2003 he had residencies at some of the best club spaces in the world. His tenure at Circo Loco (DC10 Ibiza) has become the stuff of legend and found him consistently breaking boundaries of sound and stamina, freaking out the dancefloor and taking those on it to places they never knew existed, and may never get to again.

"I thought a lot about these dj sets when pre-producing the album; especially the idea of placing off and strange melodies within a 4/4 dance music structure. It's amazing what you can achieve when you're into weird stuff", he says.

Inspired by the new energy and possibilities in international club culture and music, Lazarus founded Crosstown Rebels in 2003, the label's records offering all kinds of unique and twisted angles on cutting edge electronic music. Recent releases on Rebels from Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler, Deniz Kurtel and Art Department have found the label consistently breaking new ground and the new imprints CDR (a digital only label) and Rebellion are set to change the rules once again.

In 2008 Damian began Lazpod (http://www.lazpod.com), a monthly excursion into weird and wonderful sound, a radio show that draws influences and inspirations from all corners of the musical spectrum and is delivered in a fun and laid back style. With many thousands of fans across the globe, Damian uses the show to let listeners in a little closer to his experimental and eclectic tastes.

"Lazpod is a great entry point for new listeners to my music", he says, "and has been setting off warning signals of what might be coming on my album for some time".
A number of popular and critically acclaimed mix CDs have appeared in the last five years, charting Damian's personal development as DJ, listener and supporter of new artists: Rebel Futurism (2004), Rebel Futurism (2005), Bugged out presents Suck My Deck (2005), Get Lost (with Matthew Styles, 2006), The Other Side (2006), Sci:Fi:Lo:Fi 2: Night of The Dark Machines (2008) and Fabric 54 (2010).

Damian's critically acclaimed debut artist album, Smoke The Monster Out, is another expectation-confounding gesture from this restless musical mind. Released via Get Physical, the album boldly steps outside the realm of what one might hear in a Lazarus DJ set. Featuring his own vocals and riding a vast plain of influences - Neil Diamond to Photek, Bjork to Jeff Buckley - Lazarus demonstrates his keen ear and meticulous attention to detail in a collection of heartfelt, grievously honed tracks delivered straight from the soul. It's a sensitive record, a bold record and above all a celebratory record - one which revels in the pure pleasure, healing quality and dream-potential of music.

"It took me a while to start producing", he says "but once the juices started to flow I knew immediately that this was to be the best musical project I ever created".

A groundbreaking live set to accompany the album was been built from scratch, enhancing different elements and including new club versions of the more introspective album material. Featuring decks, effects (no laptops) and a live visual show, the album club tour debuted at the legendary SXSW festival in March 2009 and went on to blow minds in just a handful of globe's best clubs.

Damian Lazarus is a believer in giving people something exciting, unusual and idiosyncratic. He lives life to the limit, always rebelling, always moving forward: that's Damian Lazarus.

5:00PM - 7:00PM

Art Department is the brainchild of Canadian techno/house Legend Kenny Glasgow and Canada’s fastest rising star and No.19 label owner - Jonny White. As individuals both Kenny and Jonny have released countless critically acclaimed records and are regarded internationally as two of the most forward thinking, relevant underground producers out of North America. Kenny’s credentials date back to the late 80’s and include productions on Narcotic, Jinxx, his own Method 11/11 label and Turbo. Whilst White’s revered No.19 Music label along side a blindingly fast - growing discography have seen him rapidly rise to the forefront of the international scene.

The pair, despite being close friends and stalwarts in the Toronto electronic music scene for years, had not joined forces in the studio until only as recently as 2009, when Damian Lazarus called on them to remix Riz MC for his prestigious Crosstown Rebels Label. The result was an entirely new sound that drew cues from the best of both artists. It was a futuristic and raw, synth-driven, underground masterpiece, the start of a new idea and the birth of Art Department…

Before long the two were working full time in the studio to expand upon what they had created but now with a new focus… the concept for Art Department was to create a live dj/vocal performance based on the new sound they were beginning to produce and would feature Kenny Glasgow’s unique and sublime vocals that had been heard only 10+ years earlier on records like “Pressing On”. It wasn’t long before Damian heard what the pair had been working on and immediately offered them a deal with Crosstown Rebels that would include several singles, remixes and a full length album due out at the beginning of 2011.

The momentum continued and Art Department performed their first ever live show at the Crosstown Rebels Get Lost event at the 2010 WMC in front of a jam packed room, along side an A list cast of 17 artists from the label. DJ’s, promoters and party animals regarded the performance as one of the most ground-breaking & important shows at this years WMC…Simple label boss - Will Saul was quoted saying “the live show was the best thing we’ve heard since we heard Mathew Johnson for the first time…”. The follow up performance came the very next night at Jamie Jones & Lee Foss’ Hot Natured party where Art Department treated the enthusiastic crowd to a mind-bending dj set and secured their spot as residents for the much lauded Hot Natured brand.

With Endorsements from  the likes of  Clive Henry, Damian & the rest of the rebel crew along with an exciting release schedule including collaborations with Seth Troxler, Jamie Jones and Soul Clap there is no doubt that this will be yet another inspired chapter in the story of these Canadian talents.

Subb-an

3:00PM - 5:00PM

Subb-an’s rapid rise to prominence as a DJ, producer and one of the most exiting new British live acts of recent years is testament to his hard work, natural talent and wholehearted commitment to electronic music. Named as DJ Magazines ‘Best Breakthrough DJ’ in their 2011 end of year awards, Subb-an’s prodigious studio talents have seen him release on Crosstown Rebels, Spectral, Saved and My Favourite Robot and deliver much lauded remixes of Jamie Woon, Lana Del Ray, Noir & Haze and Hollis P Monroe over recent months. Outside of the studio he is a regular feature at clubs and festivals all over the world including fabric (London), Watergate (Berlin), Warehouse Project (Manchester), Movement (Detroit), D’Edge (Sao Paolo), The Electric Pickle (Miami), Just Jack (Bristol), The Harry Klein (Munich), BPM (Mexico), Space (Ibiza), Hot Natured at Sonar (Barcelona), The Garden Festival (Croatia), and Basics (Leeds).

This success hasn’t been earned overnight. At just 24 years old, Ashique ‘Subb-an’ Subhan has done much more in his career in dance music than many artists twice his age. He first started DJing when he was just fourteen years old and enrolled on a digital music production course at the age of sixteen. Since then he hasn’t looked back, graduating with a top degree in sound design from Birmingham City Uni in 2009. While most students spend their time at university getting drunk and decorating statues with traffic cones, Subb-an, along with best friends Adam Shelton and Lee McDonald, founded Below, one of the UK’s most cherished underground clubbing institutions. Drawing inspiration from summers spent at DC10 in Ibiza, Below threw its first party in the back room of the Rainbow pub in Digbeth, Birmingham back in 2005. Since then it’s gone from strength to strength, becoming an overnight success story, so much so that Adam and Lee ended up buying the pub soon after. Over the last six years it’s seen the likes of Sven Vath, Loco Dice, Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler and Mathias Tanzmann headlining sold out parties that continue to draw crowds of clued-clubbers from all over the UK. During this time the main constant at Below has been Subb-an, the club’s star resident who quickly became a local hero, never ceasing to impress with his innovative DJing skills and occasional live sets made up of a mixture of his own productions and re-edits of his favourite tracks from other artists.

The 2008 release of his debut track ‘Italia’ on Matt Tolfrey’s Leftroom records, earned widespread praise from Mixmag, DJ Mag and IDJ and quickly gained support from some of figureheads of the industry, including Laurent Garnier, Richie Hawtin, Sasha, Paul Woolford and Luciano to name but a few. Four years later, Subb-an’s discography reads like a ‘Who’s Who’ of underground house and techno’s biggest labels with his forthcoming releases on Crosstown Rebels, Spectral and Ellum backed up by past hits on Jamie Jones’ Hot Creations, Saved, Silver Network, Mothership, Leftroom, BPitch Control, 2020 Vision, Trapez Ltd, Immigrant Records and Noir Music. As a result of his highly praised production output Subb-an was named the third most charted artist of 2011 on Resident Advisor.

In 2009, Subb-an and Adam Shelton set up their own ‘One Records’ label as a platform for their own productions alongside tracks from other respected artists. Now with over ten releases in the bank, the One Records brand continues to grow with the pair throwing label parties at some of the world’s best-loved venues. In addition Ash and Adam ‘SAS’ (Subb-an and Shelton) re-edit side project has generated a stream of updated reworkings of lost classics that have found their way into DJ charts across the full spectrum of dance music.

Francesca Lombardo

1:00PM - 3:00PM

After years exploring different strains of music and picking up her own formal training, Francesca Lombardo realized she was most at home on the dancefloor.

The London based DJ, Vocal Techniques graduate and accomplished pianist first surfaced under the Jackie Misfit guise. With this alias, she DJed at various underground parties plus clubs like Brixton Academy and The Drom in the English capital, but also released on labels like Lokomotiv Recordings and started her own imprint, Echolette Records. It was a quick success story, with remixes from the likes of Hector picking up keen support from tastemakers including Marco Carola, Radio Slave and Loco Dice.

Now, though, having also made waves as vocalist and keyboard player with Def by Disco (who toured and had residencies around the UK) this unique electronic sculptress is working under her given name, Francesca Lombardo. So far she has spun alongside titans like Sven Vath, Agoria and Tobi Neumann at places like Klubbers Festival, Madrid, and Danzoo for Space of Sound, always joining the dots between house and techno.

Production wise for this genuinely musical talent it’s all about feeling, and it has been since growing up around her father’s vast collection of instruments as a child. “My style is colourful,” she says. “I like to write a track depending on how I feel. My tracks usually follow a concept.”

Said music is inspired by a lifetime of listening to Depeche Mode, Aphex Twin, Plastikman and more recent sounds like those offered by Ghostly International and Traum. But also by playing piano at Conservatorium of Music for Classical piano and singing opera from a young age. “Despite this, I was always attracted to electronic music and machines” she remembers. “I could never really cope with classical.”

With all these skills and musical experiences available to draw on, the future looks bright for Francesca Lombardo - an upcoming EP on leading contemporary label, Crosstown Rebels is only testament to that, as is the fact she has been signed to the much lauded Rebel Agency alongside the likes of scene darlings Jamie Jones, Maceo Plex and Art Department.

Carnage

10:00PM - 11:00PM

Innovating in several styles of electronic music and bringing a live PA recognized as one of the most energetic and creative to be seen, Dirtyphonics is a worldwide phenomenon that you can’t ignore.

With an incredible production level, a unique way to mix and blend different genres (electro, drum and bass, dubstep, hip hop, rock…) and a “best newcomers producers” award under their belt, Dirtyphonics is with no doubt one of the most exciting bands in today’s electronic scene.

Charly, Thomas, Pitch In and Pho started travelling the world in 2006 with their incomparable live act, combining the efficiency of a DJ set to the spirit and energy of a rock concert.

In 2008, the band takes a new scope when “French Fuck” gets signed to Shimon’s label (AudioPorn). After its release, the 12” climbs the charts to reach the first place and stays number one for a couple of weeks, bringing them immediatly forefront of the scene.

Quickly after, comes out a series of 12”s, appearing systematically in the top 10 charts.

“Quarks” and it’s audacious rhythm pattern caused a revolution in drum and bass and has inspired lots of producers. On the same EP (“The Quarks EP”) the band shows their versatility (and their ease to work with singers) in “The secret”, with MC Tali. Soon after, “Vandals” and its electro switch lights every dancefloor around the world on fire...

Over a very short period of time, Dirtyphonics tracks are played by the world’s famous DJs of the electronic music scene: Pete Tong, Annie Mac, Andy C, Chase & Status, Pendulum, Vicarious Bliss, Marky, Dj Hype, Kissy Sell Out, Annie Nightingale, Zane Lowe…

All at the same time, the band keeps to intensively tour the world from trendy clubs to huge festivals (Electric Daisy Carnival, Plages Electroniques, Solidays, Starscape, USC events, Les Nuits Zebrées, Summer Festival, Audioriver, Together As One, Nordik Impact, Arena, Government, Metrocity, Brixton Academy, Pirate Station, Glastonbury, Monegros, SXSW, Beyond Wonderland, FSOB…) and in the summer 2010, moved to Los Angeles for their acclaimed “French Do It Better” tour around  the USA and Canada.

During this tour, the band starts writing its long awaited debut album while working on a string of remixes such as Shockone’s “Polygon”, the Bloody Beetroots’ famous “Warp 1977”, Nero’s “Me and you”, Benny Benassi featuring T.Pain’s “Electroman”, Does It Offend You, Yeah?’s “Wondering”, Steve Angello and Alex Mectric featuring Ian Brown’s “Open Your Eyes”...

“Parisian crew Dirtyphonics are bucking the trend with a tranche of heavyweight music and an incendiary live show.” Mixmag

The future looks bright and busy both in the studio and on the road, as Dirtyphonics will tour more and more in 2011 and are working days in, days out on genre defying music.

Drum & Bass is a culture with one eye fixated on the future. To achieve longevity within the scene a DJ must stay two steps ahead of the general public. The arsenal needed to achieve this task comes in the form of exclusive tunes and an acute ear for "the next sound". Since 1991 DJ Fury has not only met, but surpassed all these criteria.

Steve Blakley began the metamorphosis into his moniker of DJ Fury while snow boarding professionally in the early nineties. It was during this time that Blakley attended his first few raves and was introduced to DJ culture. Reluctant to assume the role of spectator Blakley soon purchased turntables and unknowingly took the first step of his new career. By 1992 Blakley had begun to play the sound of hardcore U.K. breakbeats at events around the Denver area under the guise of DJ Fury. By the next year this sound had began to transform into an early prototype of what would be known as Jungle. Fury shifted with the new sound seamlessly.

From this point forth the Denver Jungle scene snowballed along with Fury's DJ career. The year of 1995 saw the birth of the notorious Rewind series by Lowerworld which catered purely to up front Jungle. These events began to receive attention nationwide thus providing a huge stepping stone in Fury's career. Slowly but surely his reputation of providing the best tunes with flawless mixing began to spread from city to city. From there, Fury continued to expand his growing fan base by maintaining a rigorous DJ schedule rinsing out cities such as Los Angeles, Washington DC, Seattle, San Francisco, and many others. Despite this intense travel itinerary Fury still managed to hold down Denver by throwing monthly events (now known as Reload) and co-hosted one of the longest running weekly's in the nation (Breakdown Thursdays).

Currently Fury designs for and runs the internationally acclaimed graphic design company, The Firm Graphics, in between his DJing and event promotions. He is a resident DJ for Insomniac's Bassrush, their drum & bass division, and the Reload events are still running strong and picking up steam again in Denver. One thing is for sure - you can always count on some dance floor smashing drum and bass whenever he hits the stage.

“We both felt that we wanted to push our music in the same direction” Vannin tells us. “Our collaborations under our other aliases were really fun and we were really pleased with the results we got. So when we both decided we wanted to make a variety of genres, the logical step was to create a new project”.

The pair state that their new project isn’t primarily about genres, stating that they would be experimenting with all reaches of the Electronic Music spectrum. "If a track contains the energy that gets a club moving, then I don't think it matters too much what the genre is" Static Function says. So far the duo have made Electro, Moombahcore, Drumstep, and Dubstep.

So what can we expect to hear from them? Twofold’s tracks have been described as ‘high energy, innovative club smashers’. But as with most things, you’ll really have to hear it to get a sense of it for yourself

With an in-depth knowledge of production, mixing, and performance, Worthy has the insight to play for his audience, cultivating intense positive energy on the dance floor that can only be portrayed as superhuman. His sound can be described as organic breakbeats with a mix of future house, 80s, booty bass, and techno. As Carl Cox said, "The Worthy sound has always been powerful, rocking, funky, bass-driven music at its best, and for me this is the new wave in house music." Worthy has received the recognition of major producers who have played his tracks including Sven Vath, Diplo, and Richie Hawtin, among many.

From salty aired islands to dark club basements, Worthy pays reverence to the traditional form of classic house while tripping off the mark and sinking into the euphoric less-charted territories of booty-clapping bass. Touring the globe, Worthy has performed at renowned venues like Hive in Switzerland, Sankeys in the UK, Electric Pickle in Miami, and Mezzanine in San Francisco. Beloved by his fanatical devotees, Worthy has drawn huge crowds to catch his heart-palpitating, sweat-inducing sets at festivals like Coachella, Ultra, Love Parade, and Burning Man. In 2011, Urb Magazine named Worthy one of the Top DJs To See at Burning Man, along with M.A.N.D.Y., Andy C, Soul Clap, Seth Troxler, and The Crystal Method.

Growing up in Washington DC, Worthy was inspired by the early American rave scene. Upon moving to New York in the late 90s, he was exposed to artists like LTJ Bukem and Stacey Pullen whose music inspired him to play records across multiple genres, from techno and breaks to hiphop and drum n bass. In 2001 he swapped coastlines, moving to San Francisco to pursue his music career. He team up with Claude VonStroke as well as fellow east coast brothers Justin and Christian Martin to create the prodigious outdoor party, Dirtybird, which quickly became an institution and a requisite destination for die-hard Bay Area and international fans. Dirtybird Records hatched from the popularity of these parties in 2005, and since then the label and parties have enjoyed tremendous success fueled by the obsession of their cult following.

In 2007 Worthys breakout track, Irst Te, released on Dirtybird, quickly established his notoriety as a producer. Concurrently, Worthy released Crack El EP on Leftroom, and soon after, the track Work The Walls and its accompanying music video on his personal label, Anabatic Records. Originally intended as an outlet for the release of his own music, Anabatic quickly branched out to sign new artists. Riding the frontlines of todays music scene, Anabatic Records has been providing a steady stream of edgy, high quality tracks.

In recent years, Worthy has produced a consistent slough of top releases. The release of Worthy & Yankee Zulus Concumbia charted in the Top 10 on Beatport for tech house in 2009. He also released various tracks and remixes on Discobelle Records. In the fall of 2011, Worthy teamed up with UK producer Eats Everything. Their first track, Tric Trac, released on Dirtybird received industry praise. Played by artists like Diplo, Boyz Noise, and Cats N Dogs, Tric Trac wildly grew in fan appeal moving on to become one of the Top 10 on Beatport for tech house once again. Additionally, Worthys simultaneous releases, No Cure and With This combine dirty ass-clapping breaks and gritty synths. The pinball effect of his intricate basslines traverse across the cavern of your ear canal moving inward and blowing your mind. Illustrating the diverse juxtaposition of his range and sound, his February 2012 release, Why You Waiting, on Alive Records, is like glassy water on a quiet morning sea, his beats & melodies mirroring each other, creating a melodic interface that warms the soul. As Worthy states I want to push my new sound, which is leaning more toward a breakbeat old-school vibe, but still want to keep with the fact that I play house and techno. My focus is to stay innovative and authentic and to continually reinvent myself as an artist.

Worthy has an original flavor that will amp you up, leaving you feigning for more. The synchronization of Worthys music speaks to the connoisseur, the DJ, the groupie and the novice alike. Finding balance and unison across all electronic music platforms, his music is unparalleled. He reads his crowd, breaking and fusing genres, blending styles, and establishing an energetic dance floor camaraderie that makes even the most skeptic haters booty shake.

Sepehr

8:00PM - 9:00PM

Sepehr's first encounter with humanity was when a confused Japanese fisherman had to untangle his limbs from a fishing net. The first vinyl he purchased was at age 4: Marvin Gaye - Sexual Healing. The inherent soul of that vinyl let Sepehr find his inner nature, and he tamed a dolphin for the first time at the age of 5. Inspired by the squeaks and sirens of dolphins, he connected pots and pans to Ableton by age 6 and began producing at 9000bpm. This lead to back-to-back 16 hour sets with German classmate Franz in 1st grade on the school jungle gym. As years passed, the general debauchery of the 90's and the Bay Area's hedonistic hyphy movement set Sepehr up with much inspiration for his future in music.

In 2005 at the age of 15, Sepehr first met a scruffy young Vulcan named Ardalan. Also known at the time as "The Godfather", Ardalan bestowed upon Sepehr a new perspective for what is possible with about 8,880 less BPM. Frolicking the days away with a hackeysack and Magda in the earbuds, this Vulcan helped Sepehr lay the true foundation of his musical endeavors. Sooner than later, they were drawn to the San Francisco scene where they would then be exposed to the 808-fueled Dirtybird BBQs. Embracing this sound, Sepehr dove into the deepest depths of the SF underground and experienced an evocative psychedelic metamorphosis at a now defunct legendary venue lost among the warehouses of San Francisco.

With all of this arcane musical knowledge accumulated and flowing through his veins, Sepehr stepped up his creative vision and drive in producing the tracks he released. After dropping a track that was supported by the likes of Claude VonStroke, Sascha Robotti, Justin Martin, Danny Daze, Catz n' Dogz, Noir, Pezzner, Tom Budden and more, the exposure of Sepehr's sound soared and more and more people are now paying attention to what is sure to follow. We've yet to see the full spectrum of Sepehr's abilities, and we can all expect to witness his plethora of inspirations and ideas coming together to shake dancefloors for years to come alongside his seabound friends and family, Tech Dolphin.

Jayko

4:00PM - 5:00PM

Although Jayko has only been DJing for about a year, the young Los Angeles born producer has been a musician for much longer than that. He picked up a guitar at the age of seven and from there quickly moved on to keyboards, drums, and bass. Following his passion of creating music as a one man band, it only seemed fitting that producing electronic music was his next step. Having shared the stage with the likes of BONES, Rudebrat, Warm Brew, and Terravita, as well as thrown multiple shows of his own all over California, Jayko is no stranger to live performance. Jayko's productions have also gotten love from blogs such as Ear Milk, Techibeats, GottaDanceDirty, and Metro Jolt. He doesn't plan on stopping anytime soon either—it is clear that despite his young age, Jayko is serious about making music. His seemingly constant musical output includes remixes and originals for labels like Temple Music Group, Sweat It Out!, and Popgang Records. Jayko plans on pushing the boundaries of contemporary dance music and refuses to fall into the pigeon hole of any one sub genre of dance music as he continues to explore and experiment.

Shae B.

1:00PM - 2:00PM

With repetition and redundancy ever-present in the dance music community, Los Angeles DJ/vocalist, Shaelen Burroughs AKA shae b., stands apart sonically and visually from the growingly homogenous DJ market.

Artistically, Shaelen finds herself drawn to the deeper, soulful side of House music, but her roots in Long Beach evoke an everlasting love of Hip-Hop and Rap that allows for dexterity in her music selection. On a given night, you could hear her play anything from the deep, druggy sounds of Jamie Jones or Seth Troxler to a bouncy Snoop and Dre remix to a booty-shaking G House tune from SF's dirtybird crew. She understands the crowd and feels a synergy with them, so every set is tailored for the optimal crowd response.
